Electropolishing Techniques for Enhanced Look and Performance of Automotive Trims, Grilles

Electropolishing-the opposite of electroplating-removes material from surfaces in a controlled environment. Through a series of developmental trials, the process has been refined to achieve the maximum return and excellent results that have been approved by all tiers of the automotive sector. Such a process was utilized by Elite Metal Finishing Services, Inc., to achieve the desired results for the trim/grille parts for a well-known automotive manufacturer. (Due to confidentiality agreements, the manufacturer's name has been withheld from this article.) Elite, based in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., teamed up with a second-tier supplier to the automotive industry to assist in the development of a new process designed to enhance the look and performance of exterior automotive trim parts.
