Plural-component proportioning is a unique way to meter and dispense multi-component materials. The two basic methods of automated proportioning are convergent-stream and integration technologies. Automated proportioners control the ratio either mechanically or electronically. In either case, the materials are mixed together in a manifold or integration chamber via a static mix tube or a power mixer,and delivered as a single component for application. Plural-component materials give increased physical properties, reduced cure time, and the ability to reduce VOCs emitted to the atmosphere. It is not out of the question to see a 15-20% savings in material usage and its associated costs.rnYour choice of plural-component proportioner is not one to make in haste. Systems can be expensive and require technical maintenance. Capabilities in maintenance and equipment up keep must be evaluated. Know what you want, what is required, and what you like. Know your cost of failure. Don't automatically rule out electronic systems because of cost. Their capabilities may far override the initial up-front investment. Material suppliers are developing materials near or at 100% solids that require proportioning equipment.rnPlural-component proportioning can save you material.
