Preparing paint for use requires mixing. Fire and explosion are the two key hazards associated with mixing operations. The degree of a fire or explosion hazard depends on the quantity of flammable liquid, its flash point, method of handling, ventilation, amount of confinement, and the temperatures of the flammable liquids and the room.rnA paint mix room, sometimes called a paint kitchen, provides a safe area to prepare paint for use on the finishing line (see Fig. 1). The room also can be used for dispensing coatings to the line by employing circulation systems-saving labor, reducing material loss, keeping the line running smoothly, and providing a safe environment.
