Iran applies taxes to exports of iron ore concentrate and pellets

The Iranian government has introduced taxes on export shipments of iron ore concentrate and iron ore pellet in a bid to control rising exports.rnExport shipments of iron ore concentrate will be subjectto customs duties of 50%, while exports of iron ore pellet will be subject to duties of 35%.rnIran has more than 4 billion tonnes of iron ore deposits, and miners have dramatically increased their output in recent years.rnDuringthe last Iranian year, which ended in March 2010, government-controlled miners produced around 25 million tonnes of iron ore.
