European CRC prices drop on slack demand, while galvanized coil remains steady

Cold rolled coil (CRC) prices in Europe have fallen by about €30-50 ($39-65) pertonne overthe past month on low demand, market participants told Metal Bulletin. Prices were at €540-550 per tonne for December and January delivery last week, down from €570-600 in early November. Narrowing ranges reflect low demand and the ready availability of material, sources said. "There are still parcels available from import stocks at Antwerp pier," one tradersaid. Prices for hot-dipped galvanized (HDG)coil - a higher value product - remain low, but have not fallen below CRC price levels.
