Middlesex Water is a water utility company. Co. is engaged in the business of collecting, treating, distributing and selling water for domestic, commercial, municipal, industrial and fire protection purposes. Co. also operates New Jersey municipal water, wastewater and storm water systems under contract and provides unregulated water and wastewater services in New Jersey and Delaware through its subsidiaries. As of Dec 31 2016, Co.'s Middlesex System in New Jersey provided water services to approximately 61,000 retail customers, primarily in eastern Middlesex County, NJ, as well as water service to approximately 300 customers in Cumberland County, NJ.
