VF is an apparel and footwear company. Co. designs, produces, procures, markets and distributes a range of products, including jeanswear, outerwear, footwear, backpacks, luggage, sportswear, and occupational and performance apparel. Products are marketed primarily under Co-owned brand names. Co.'s products are marketed to consumers shopping in specialty stores, department stores, national chains, mass merchants and its own direct-to-consumer operations. Co. is organized by groupings of businesses called coalitions that consist of the following: Outdoor & Action Sports, Jeanswear, Imagewear, and Sportswear. As of Dec 31 2016, Co. operated 1,507 retail stores.
