Ecodesign methodology for recyclable textile coverings used in the construction and transport industry

The project "EcoMeTex - Ecodesign methodology for recyclable textile coverings used in the European construction and transport industry" deals with the development of a method for the production of recyclable textile floor-covering and simultaneously with the practical transfer and development of a recyclable carpet design. This article handles the practical realization of the recyclable carpet design. During the process of development 2 main approaches are utilized. The first one is the production of a woven carpet solely made of PA 6 and the second is a tufted carpet with an additional separation layer. For both approaches the raw material was the already chemically recycled PA 6 yarn Econyl by Aquafil SpA, Arco-Trento/Italy.
