Ungovernable life: mandatory medicine and statecraft in Iraq

I was trained in Baghdad as a physician at the same time as the author of this book, and I served in Iraqi hospitals and health facilities for 13 years after completing my training. I compliment Dr Dewachi for assembling his history of Iraq's complex state-building process. His work provides good background information on a wide range of topics, and highlights the sociopolitical processes and infrastructure developments related to the country's transitions from the early twentieth century to the present day. For readers who are not already familiar with the creation and evolution of Iraq under the British Mandate and even for those who are, this book is to be recommended.
