A larger type bandage that will find particular application in hospital settings has been developed by Michael Masini of Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. The device addresses the problems associated with the application and disposal of wound dressings.rnThe single composite structure has integrated absorbent, adhesive and fluid permeable layers, and can be turned inside-out to self-contain the surfaces once exposed to the patient. In effect, the bandage forms its own disposal pouch, thereby eliminating the need for separate sterilized disposal means.
