Absorbent article with a desired bowl-shape

An absorbent article, such as an incontinence protector or sanitary napkin, which creates a desired bowl-shape when removed from its packaging, has been developed by SCA Hygiene Products. According to the company of Gothenburg, Sweden, the absorbent article (I), disclosed in US Patent 8 317 768 (and shown in Figure 5 as a protector for light incontinent females), features an elongated Y-shaped hole (8) extending in the longitudinal direction in the absorbent core (2), with elastic elements (9,10) attached to opposite lateral edges of the absorbent core.
