Methods, systems and apparatus for nanomaterial-enhanced haemostatic medical devices are disclosed in US Patent 8 304 595 by Nanosys. These may be, for instance, haemostatic bandages, haemostatic plugs and haemostatic formulations. The haemostatic materials and structures are designed to induce coagulation of the blood at a wound/opening caused by trauma, a surgical procedure, ulceration or other causes, explains the company of Palo Alto, California, USA. They can incorporate nano-structures and/or further haemostatic elements, such as polymers and/or glass beads.
