Coats of Uxbridge, UK, has launched Coats Insectiban anti-bed-bug sewing thread and zips. The global industrial thread and consumer textile crafts business developed the chemical treatment, which is based on naturally occurring, durable plant extracts and oils, at its laboratories in Turkey and Germany. The company says any size or colour thread can be treated with Coats Insectiban without affecting either sewing performance or the chemical properties of the treatment;further, the chemical is harmless to humans and pets.
