A novel wound healing device is described in US Patent 8 647 663 by Stemnion. The device comprises a braided suture or knitted mesh that has adsorbed onto it cellular factor-containing compositions (CFCs), including amnion-derived cellular cytokine solution (ACCS) or physiologic cytokine solutions (PCSs). According to the company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, the bio-erodable sutures or mesh are absorbed with the CFCs (including ACCS or PCSs), which become trapped in the spaces between the braided filaments of the sutures or mesh.
