An implantable medical device (600) that includes a surgical mesh (620) and a polymeric film (610) pivotably attached to the mesh is described in US Patent 9 364 310 by Covidien. The device could be useful in many endoscopic, laparoscopic, arthroscopic, endoluminal, transluminal and/or open surgical procedures; examples include hernia repair, repair of vaginal prolapse, ligament repair and tendon repair.
