Comfortable sanitary pad is 100% biodegradable

Students at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, USA, have developed a 100% biodegradable feminine sanitary pad. Made of natural materials the device is said to be thinner and more comfortable than similar products on the market. The Shero Pad uses processed algae as its super-absorbent ingredient, which is then covered with cotton and the same material that makes-up teabags. The resulting maxi-pad is claimed to be effective, comfortable to wear and can break down any time between 45 days and six months after use. Essity listed on Nasdaq Stockholm Global hygiene and health company Essity was listed on Nasdaq Stockholm on 15 June 2017 and the company's Class A and Class B shares have commenced trading. The listing is a result of a decision to split the SCA Group into two listed companies: forest products company SCA and hygiene and health company Essity, whose name stems from the words "essentials" and "necessities".
