Hydrophobic lyocell fibre for absorbent products

A soft, hydrophobic and biodegradable lyocell fibre has beenlaunched by Lenzing for use in absorbent hygiene products.The Austrian cellulosic fibre producer says the fibre –Veocel with Dry technology – exhibits similar properties tothose manufactured from fossil-fuel based feedstocks,thereby eliminating the need for manufacturers of femininehygiene and incontinence care products to makecompromises between functionality, comfort and sustainability.
