A single-layer surgical gauze has been developed by B-ReS of Borgosatollo, Italy. The fabric is designed to overcome the problem of the unintentional retention of gauzes inside the surgery site, which, including instruments and other materials, is said to occur once every 1000-3000 surgical procedures.
