An absorbent article designed to effectively prevent side leakage has been disclosed by Procter & Gamble of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.As US Patent 9 949 880 explains, the device includes a lateral topsheet (18) on each longitudinal side of the body-facing surface of the absorbent article so that at least part of the lateral topsheet covers the hydrophilic topsheet (12).
