INTERNATIONA COLLABORATION: MEASUREMENT OF THE ACTIVITY OF ~192Ir WITH INTERNATIONAL COMPARISONS

A method is presented for the absolute measurement of the activity 0of the ~192Ir radionuclide, which has a complex decay scheme, using apparatus of the State primary standard of the unit of activity of radionuclides at the D.I. Mendeleev All-Union Scientific-Research Institute for Metrology (VNIIM). The results are given of international comparisons organized in 1996 by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures with the participation of meteorological laboratories from ten countries, and unparticular of VNIIM. Also given are the results of a comparison in 1997 with the Electromechanical Laboratory in Japan.
