TERMINOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF ESTIMATING THE THRESHOLD CHARACTERISTICS OF RADIATION DETECTORS

Terminological aspects of the definitions of responsively and detectivity of radiation detectors and photodetection devices are discussed. It is shown that existing terms and definitions leave a certain ambiguity in the functional relationship between detectivity and the threshold flux, and that this ambiguity leads to inconsistency in the definitions of the indicated threshold characteristics.
