Studies about concrete production of low environmental impact often seek materials that can partially substitute Portland concrete. Accordingly, we highlight residues, which can be used as pozzolanic and cementitious materials and/or as fillers. Abundant in Brazil, ash is a residue derived from the burning of sugar-cane bagasse. The burning conditions influence its pozzolanic characteristics, which could contribute to a greater durability of the cementitious composite. Burning processes are different at each sugar cane mill, thus generating ashes with different characteristics and making their their application more restrict. This paper analyzes the reburning process with the purpose of evaluating the homogenization and development of ashes' pozzolanic characteristics from different sources. Chemical analysis, physical characterization and tests were carried out to analyze the pozzolanicity of ashes both in natura and after reburning. The results revealed that the thermal treatment enables a better homogenization of different sugar-cane ashes.
