The hot deformation behaviour of 316LN-Nb stainless steel was investigated at 900–1250uC andnstrain rates of 0?005–5 s–1nby hot compression tests on a Gleeble-1500D thermo-mechanicalnsimulator. The constitutive equation of 316LN-Nb steel was determined by calculating the stressnexponent, activation energy and Zemer-Hollomon parameter. The hot processing map wasndeveloped based on dynamic material model theories and Prasad instability criterion. Dynamicnrecrystallisation under different deformation conditions has been analysed. The results showednthat the larger power dissipation rate is located at 1050–1200uC and strain rate of approximatelyn0?05 s21n.
