The need for high-temperature pipeline coatings that work well with CP will grow as production and attendant processes become involved in higher- and higher-temperature operations. The oil and gas industry is the main focus of these products, but there are many other industries that can benefit from this technology. It is much safer for the community and for companies to place these "hot" pipelines below ground or below water and cathodically protect them than to install them above grade. At this time there are few coating choices available. For these reasons, this coating system is being developed. This system should provide the user with a coating that will work well with CP at higher operating temperatures. The short-term tests have provided excellent results, even when compared to many coatings tested at lower temperatures. If these tests are a good indicator, this will be an excellent coating for higher-temperature service pipelines and similar structures.
