Another Banner Year for NACE International

It is my honor to serve the members of NACE International as Treasurer. From the time of the first Treasurer, Mr.-O.C. Mudd, it has been the responsibility of the Treasurer to report the financial condition of the Society to its members. It is my privilege to report that NACE International's financial condition is strong. NACE International, as the premier Corrosion Society, continues to improve its services to members while keeping a close eye on our financial well-being. With a hardworking and dedicated staff, as well as its enthusiastic membership, NACE shall continue to be the world leader in protecting people, assets and the environment from the effects of corrosion. Below are highlights of NACE programs and their financial results Curing the past year. The Education Division had another record year, providing training to more than 4,400 students through 250 classes. The global reach of NACE training continues to expand-in Fiscal Year (FY) 2004/2005, classes were held in 26 countries, including China and Japan for the first time. The Coating Inspector Program (CIP) continued to lead the way internationally, training more than 800 students who reside outside the U.S. and Canada. There were more than 2,300 students in 132 CIP classes held worldwide. The NACE Cathodic Protection (CP) Program also continues to do well, providing training to more than 900 students during the year. NACE also introduced the new Offshore Corrosion Assessment Training this year for the offshore oil and gas industry. This is the follow-up to a similar course developed for the U.S. Minerals Management Service and is seen as a great advance for the industry. More than 8,000 persons now hold a NACE certification.
