Another Banner Year for NACE International

As Treasurer of NACE International, it is my responsibility to report our organizations annual inancial results. The comments that follow highlight program accomplishments for Fiscal Year (FY) 2003/2004. I am proud to report that thanks to the hard work and dedication of our members and staff, NACE has once again achieved financial strength and stability in spite of challenging economic times. The Education Division continues to provide a greater number of courses and classes to a greater number of students. Last year, 239 training events were held in 26 countries including, for the first time, Nigeria, India, Malaysia, Belgium, Sweden, and South Korea. Our largest program, the Coating Inspector Program (CIP), continued to lead the way internationally, training more than 800 students who reside outside of the U.S. and Canada. There were more than 2,300 students in 132 CIP classes held worldwide during FY 2003/2004. In December 2003, we issued CIP card number 10,000 in the program's 22nd year. The NACE Cathodic Protection Program also continues to do well, having provided training to more than 800 students in the past year. In 2004 NACE introduced the new Internal Corrosion for Pipelines program. More than 8,000 people now hold an active NACE certification.
