Synthesis and characterization of hollow Sb_2Se_3 nanospheres

摘要

Sb_2Se_3 hollow nanospheres have been prepared by a solvothermal treatment of SbCl_3 and selenium powder in the presence of CTAB. X-ray diffraction (XRD) indicates that the product was orthorhombic Sb_2Se_3. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the nanospheres are polycrystalline with size ranging from 20 to 200 nm in diameter depending on the reaction temperature. The absorption band appeared at about 620-780 nm in the UV-VIS spectra. A possible mechanism for the formation of the nanostructures is discussed.
