摘要

Mg_2Cu spontaneously undergoes hydrolysis in water at room temperature, and reacts with water to form Mg (OH)_2, Cu and hydrogen. As well as Cu nanoparticles, Cu_2O was formed. The hydrolysis behavior of Mg_2Cu is compared to that previously found for Mg_2Ni. The Cu nanoparticles prepared by hydrolysis of Mg_2Cu were spherical in shape with a mean size of about 10 nm.
