Facile preparation of poly(methyl methacrylate)/MoS_2 nanocomposites via in situ emulsion polymerization

摘要

In this work, poly(methyl methacrylate)/MoS_2 nanocomposites were prepared by a facile emulsion polymerization method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results demonstrated that MoS_2 is homogenously dispersed and partially exfoliated in a PMMA matrix. The improvement in thermal stability of the nanocomposites is remarkable with only 1% MoS_2 content which is attributed to the physical barrier effect and the charring effect of the MoS_2 nanosheets.
