The phase formation, microstructures and microwave dielectric properties of 0.5 wa ZnO-doped 0.9MgTiO(3)-0.1(K(0.5)LA(0.5))TiO3 ceramic system, prepared by conventional solid-state reaction route, were investigated, aiming to obtain a composite with low loss and nearly zero tau(f) value. Microwave dielectric properties were found strongly correlate with the densification and the second phase of the ceramic system. Moreover, doping with appropriate amount of ZnO as a sintering aid contributed to the enhancement of densification and microwave dielectric properties of the ceramic system. Excellent microwave dielectric properties (epsilon(r)similar to 21.7, Qxf similar to 68,000 GHz (at 8 GHz) and tau(f)similar to-0.7 x 10(-6)/degrees C) were achieved for 0.5 wt% ZnO-doped MgTiO3-(K0.5La0.5)TiO3 ceramic system sintered at 1300 degrees C for 4 h.
