摘要

A series of Ge20SnxSe80-x ternary chalcogenide glasses were synthesized by melt-quenching method. Third-order optical nonlinearities of the glasses at mid-infrared wavelengths of 3.0 and 3.5 were investigated by Z-scan technique. The experiment results indicated that the variation of nonlinear refraction index (n(2)) with Sn concentration was consistent at both wavelengths, which can be well explained by structural changing of glass network using Raman spectra as well as the constrained theory based on mean coordination number. The largest n(2) reached 8.09 x 10(-18) and 1.41 x 10(-17) m(2)/W at 3.0 and 3.5 mu m respectively, indicating great potential for infrared photonic devices. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
