In this article, high-energy electro-pulsing treatment is executed on DP600 steel to avoid the formation of discontinuous martensites or eutectoid region under traditional annealing treatment. It's found that compared with traditional treatment, the a/a grain boundaries are more fully wetted by refined martensites or eutectoid carbides in electro-pulsing treated samples. Moreover, on account of this special microstructure, more compatible deformation characteristics and better mechanical properties of DP600 steel are also acquired by electro-pulsing with 360 ms. This interesting finding offers an efficient treating method for dual phase steel towards higher properties from the viewpoint of structure-performance relationship. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V.
