A versatile push tug design for German owners

A new versatile pusher tug has been delivered to German operators Hans Schramm & Sohn GmbH of Brunsbuttle. Named Christian, the tug is the second vessel of its type to be built to a new design by Nav-Consult Maritime Engineering and Consulting, a Schramm associate company.rnThe design is designated the NavTug 18TS 'push' and combines the features of a small shallow draft twin screw tug with those of a push boat for use on inland waterways. Measuring 18.50m in length overall, with a beam of 6.20m, the tug has a working draft of between 1.80m and 2.20m and a minimum air draft of approximately 4.3m.
