This fi rst V164-9.5mW turbine was installed on a PrinciplePower WindFloat platform at the installation harbourin Rotterdam. The Windfl oat platform comprises threevertical concrete cylinders arranged in a triangle withcross bracing connections to create a semi-submersiblestructure. With a rated capacity of 9.525mW, these turbinesare the most powerful ones to be installed on a commercialwind farm anywhere in Europe according to MHI Vestas.They are also the most powerful turbines to be installedon a fl oating platform anywhere in the world, surpassingthe MHI Vestas 8.4mW turbines operating at the Windfl oatAtlantic platform established off shore Portugal.
