A UK passenger ferry has been converted to begin a new life as party boat on the Thames River in London. The former ferry Gosport Queen owned by the Gosport Ferry Company, was previously used to run passengers the short distance between Portsmouth and Gosport. "The reason we decided to purchase an ex passenger ferry in the UK, instead of building a new vessel, is mainly to keep the costs down. To have a vessel built to the required UK & MCA standards would have been twice, if not three times, the amount we ended up spending," Robert Cairns, managing director, London Party Boats Ltd, told MJ.
