The origins of Bloemsma & van Breemen goes back to 1974, when customised hulls were built under the name Jachtwerf Bloemsma of Makkum. The company built a total of 136 complete hulls in both steel and aluminium, as well as constructing superstructures for other yards. The building of complete yachts began in 1997, and has included six classic Hoek Design sailing yachts plus four very different custom projects: 1. the 18 m Vripack Doggersbank Trewes, 2. the 18 m Beeldsnijder Maskot, 3. the 24.50 m Hoek racer/cruiser Bharlin Blue, and 4. the 28 m Vripack Doggersbank Offshore Patriot.
