INNOVATION 2020 A STRATEGY FOR GROWTH

On November 23rd HME's strategy report 'Innovation 2020' was presented to Member of Parliament Roland Kortenhorst. In this report the worldwide long term market developments for the maritime industries are scrutinized. It is concluded that on average there will be a high ordering level from the world's ship owners in the coming 15 years, and especially Chinese shipyards will profit from that. In order to increase know how in Western Europe, new investments are necessary in research, development and innovation, combined with an open mind towards new international developments, and investments in the shipbuilding supply chain. In cooperation with Syntens and MSR-consult these international developments are translated in 7 concrete innovation routes for companies, associations and government, with 'Innovation, Cooperation and Globalisation' as focal points.
