On Friday October 7th 2005, new building 801 was launched at Maas Shipyards and transported to Bodewes Shipyards. New building 801 or oil tanker 'Norden' is a marking point in the long standing history of Bodewes Shipyard because it is the first oil tanker ever built at their yard. After an intensive and long period of negotiations between Bodewes Shipyards and shipowner Taerntank from Sweden the contract between the parties was signed for the oil tanker 'Norden'. The casco has been built at Maas Shipyards located in Waterhuizen and after that it was transported to the Jachtwijk location of Bodewes Shipyards, located in Hoogezand. Where the casco has been outfitted and commissioned. On februari 2nd 2006 'Norden' was handed over to its new owners Tarntank Rederi AB. Tarntank Rederi AB's speciality is product tankers and Tarntank Rederi AB has established a reputation of reliability. They are committed to continue this reputation of reliability with the addition of oil tanker Norden to their fleet.
