DHV has been awarded a contract for the construction of the Alkimos wastewater treatment plant in Perth, Western Australia. The plant will be based on DHV's proprietary Carrousel~R technology and will service the expansions of Perth's northern suburbs. The plant will have an initial capacity of 20,000 m3 per day. Western Australia Water Corporation selected DHV as the nominated subcontractor to provide a technology package for the Alkimos wastewater treatment plant. DHV is responsible for the design of the treatment process and for the supply of key equipment. Special feature of this specific installation is that the treatment system will be constructed at an extended depth. The contract follows after DHV was recently involved with the construction of four wastewater treatment plants South of Perth, under the South Metropolitan Wastewater treatment plant upgrading programme.
