CHANG JIANG KOU 01:Dutch-Chinese cooperation

On 10 September 2011, the successful naming and launch ceremony for the CHANG JIANG KOU 01 took place at the IHC Merwede shipyard in Kinderdijk, the Netherlands. IHC Merwede is building this 12.000m3 trailing suction hopper dredger for Yangtze Estuary Waterway Administration Bureau MOT, which is based in the People's Republic of China. The ceremony was performed by Tian Liying, spouse of His Excellency Zhang Jun, Ambassador of the Peoples Republic of China in the Netherlands. The launch was accompanied by fireworks, in accordance with Chinese tradition. A Chinese dragon dance was also part of the celebration.
