On 9 March 2011 the cutter dredger Quibidn /was floated onboard the Rolldock Sun for shipment to Panama. The owner of the new vessel, the Panama Canal Authority (or ACP in short), had signed the contract for the construction in March 2008. After a lengthy tendering procedure, ACP chose IHC Merwede on the basis of the yard's expertise and its reputation for quality and accepted the available build slot, which in the busy times of 2008 was not something to take for granted.
