Port of Rotterdam rewards vessels with Green Award certificate

In 2012 inland vessels with a Green Award certificate are rewarded with a 15% discount on port dues within the Port of Rotterdam. Vessels that have a low NOx and microscopic dust emission will receive an even higher discount of 30%. Vessels eligible for the 30% discount need to be eqquiped with a propulsion driveline which is 60% cleaner than the inland shipping emission standard (CCR Phase II) prescribes. This concerns vessels that run on Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) or a combination of a NOx filter and catalyst.
