Six new pipelaying vessels ordered at IHC Merwede

IHC Merwede has successfully secured new orders for the design, engineering and construction of a total of six pipelaying vessels. The contracts have been signed with Subsea 7 and Seabras Sapura, that already had respectively five and three pipelaying vessels ordered. All six of the 550-tonne vessels will be built at IHC Merwede's shipbuilding facilities in the Netherlands. Next to the delivery of the vessels, Seabras Sapure will be provided with a pipelaying simulator for the training of their offshore staff. The deliveries of the in total € one billion orders are planned between the first half of 2015 and the second half of 2016.
