HNLMS Evertsen plays host to 'Lowpex'

On Tuesday 9 September, the first day of SMM, the 'Lowpex: Lowering Operational Costs in Shipping' will be held on board of the Dutch Navy frigate HNLMS Evertsen. A unique location for a conference which focuses on promoting European leadership in the field of energy-efficient shipping, including topics such as lowering fuel consumption, bringing down maintenance costs and creating smart ships of the future. The conference will be organised by a collaboration of Netherlands Maritime Technology, Maritime by Holland and Bloem Doze Nienhuis maritime consultants. Tristan Beumer, consultant at Bloem Doze Nienhuis, explains: "SMM has been identified as a strategic trade fair by the Dutch government to support the internationalisation of our Topsector Water. As such, the Dutch government supports the Dutch maritime cluster with the Holland Pavilion and has made organising the Lowpex conference possible. Our aim is to promote the Dutch maritime industry in Germany and showcase what our country has to offer in regards to clean shipping. Also, Martin Bloem, CEO at Bloem Doze Nienhuis, will be moderating the conference."
