September 2007's Last Word article, "Clearing Up Buzzards Bay's Murky Waters" contained an error in describing the Coast Guard's August 30 final rule on the Regulated Navigation Area (RNA) for the First District. The article stated, "The rule does not require an escort tug for tank ships, double-hulled barges or single-hull tank barges towed by primary tugs that have twin-screw propulsion with a separate system for power to each screw." This is only true in First District waterways other than Buzzards Bay.
