Another attempt at defense acquisition reform

Congress is again looking to reform the defense acquisition process. In February, Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, introduced the Weapon Systems Acquisition Reform Act of 2009. Meantime the House Committee on Armed Services has under consideration both H.R. 1830, introduced March 31 as the companion measure to the Levin/McCain bill and H.R. 2101, introduced last month by Chairman Skelton and Ranking Republican John McHugh.
