Alaska governor calls for cut in cruise tax

Faced with a 17% decline in cruise visitation this summer, Alaska Govrenor Sean Parnell voiced his support last month for a 25% reduction in the tourism head tax. The head tax would be reduced from $46 per person to $34.50. Alaska could see its cruise visitors drop by 140,000 during the four-month cruise season.
