Coast Guard orders more patrol boats from Bollinger Shipyards

In September 2008 the U.S. Coast Guard awarded Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., Lockport, La., a contract for the design and construction of its lead ship for its new SENTINEL Class, with the option of buying up to 34 more patrol vessels for the class. Just lastrnmonth, the Coastt Guard exercised an option and awarded Bollinger with $142 million for the construction of three additional patrol boats for the class.
