This edited book is an outcome of the Fourth International Symposium on the above topic. The book starts with an introduction on the topic by the editors. The rest of the book is divided into four sections, followed by author index, subject index, and a CD-ROM.rnSection one is titled "Submarine mass movements: Triggers, mechanics and geotech-nical properties." It contains 17 papers dealing with how submarine mass movements are triggered, the mechanisms behind these triggers, and the resulting geotechnical properties.rnSection two, "Submarine mass movements: Case studies and hazard assessment," includes 19 papers. Case studies cover examples from all over the globe.
