First Ulstein Bergen BV engines installed in supply ship

The first pair of Ulstein Bergen's most powerful diesel engines have been installed in an 80m anchor handling tug supply vessel built for Simon Mokster Shipping AS in Stavanger. These BV engines each produce 5294kW (7205 bhp) at 750 rev/min from twelve cylinders in a 55 deg vee configuration. The design is a development of the established B-series 320mm bore engine which until now has only been available in in-line (BR) form. But the BV is not just a vee version of the existing engine, many design improvements have been made. BV engines will be built with 12, 16 or 18 cylinders, widening the power range to more than 7.9MW.
